I will spare you the long read about all of my first year college experiences, but I will say that I had a fantastic year at Calvin. I met so many wonderful new friends, professors, and people, and I'm so excited to see what my upcoming sophomore year is going to be like.
I'll mention a couple of highlights in order to recap a little...
The initial move in and all the excitement that goes with it, that first night of homework when reality set in and all of my syllabuses and homework (along with my roommates) were spread around the room, being serenaded by the guy floors at night, staying up into the wee hours of the morning, gospel choir, eating in the dining hall, Airband, President Byker and the Cabinet jumping in the sem pond, eating dinner at President Byker's house, Hope/Calvin basketball games, going to the library to hang out instead of doing homework, taking over 6 hours of spanish every day for the month of January (I could dream in spanish!), the All Campus Service Day I planned for senate, coming back from Dance Guild to Calvin and seeing the news, fire truck, bomb squad, and police in front of Drew's dorm, calling him, running over to find out that he and our friends were being arrested at that moment, and then finding out he was in jail (more like a low-light I would definitely say, but still very memorable) and then that whole week that followed (that will be saved for another post perhaps), running for student senate executive team, our dorm roller skating party, our dorm dance, yesterdog at one in the morning, finishing my religion exam, and saying goodbye to friends for the summer.
So there you have it. A very, very teensy glimpse of my first year at Calvin :)
